Connext, the industrial communication center
Connext is an OPC UA Server that supports a large amount of protocols, is of industrial type that for infrastructure and buildings. It supports advanced features such as Gateway, Historian / Data Loggers, redundancy, OPC UA server and client IIoT protocols and much more. And ‘the ideal solution for every need of connectivity, is that M2M between IT and OT factory levels.
Progea launchs on the industrial automation market the product Connext, strong from his long stroy and know how in the industrials communication protocols and OPC UA. Connext is based on Automation Platform.NExT technology, the industry’s leading automation platform that provides a single source of industrial automation data to all of your applications. Connext leverages OPC UA (the automation industry’s standard for interoperability) and IT communication (such as SNMP, IIoT, ) to provide users with a single source for industrial data.
The platform is developed and tested to meet our customers’ performance, reliability, and ease-of-use requirements.
Connext provides communication for a wide range of industrial and infrastructures devices and fieldbus, and manages the OPC UA connection with any standard Client. Furthermore, it manages powerful features like Gateway, Historian, Alarms & Condition, IIoT, Redundancy.
Field device connectivity
Connext is much more than a simple OPC UA Server!
It offers highly advanced tools that include Gateway, Historian, Alarms & Condition, IIoT and Redundancy functions.
What the advantages of using this product?
Certified Data Server
The Connext Server is OPC Foundation certified and supports the Data Access, Alarm & Conditions and Historical Access specifications.
The Connext OPC UA Server includes a suite of communication protocols divided by category. The user can activate them one at a time or several at a time by using the Multidriver option and using the Gateway function. The list of communication protocols (Siemens, Rockwell, Omron, BacNet, Ethernet/IP, Konnex, ecc.) can be viewed on the website in the ‘Support’ section. The Connext Drivers are the same ones used in Movicon.NExT.
Each Connext communication protocol supports automatic import of variables from the field or PLC to facilitate and quicken communication configuring.
Gateway and IIoT
Each Server Tag in the MultiDriver configuration, can be connected simultaneously to different communication protocols. Thanks to the Internet of Things (IoT) protocols, data read in the field can be connected directly to remote systems or to data collection platforms in the Cloud such as Progea Cloud.Databoom for example.
Historian and Data Loggers
The Connext Server offers the Historian option to record data on relation databases (default SQL Server) or in the Cloud (SQL Azure). It is not just a data server but also a true and proper data collection system as well that is capable of providing historical data thanks to supporting OPC UA Historical Access.
Alarms & Condition
The Connext Server also provides the option to use the Alarms configuration to manage Alarms & Conditions specification in OPC UA Clients when needed.
The Connext Server the supports the Hot Backup function as an option allowing you to handle data server arrays to ensure maximum availability of data connections and archives for each mission critical application.
The Connext Server ensure maximum openness offering a SDK to allow .NET developers to integrate their own suite of customized protocols to expand the existing library of already available Drivers.
Connext is offered with a modular license policy where the license is sized in Tags (variables). One TAG is any one variable connected to the field in bit, byte, bit, byte, word, float and double/long 64bit, including those defined as structure or array members. The byte, word and other variable can be pointed to single bits. (Note: each variable member of Structure or Array types count as one Tag).
