In response their great experience in the world of connectivity and the OPC UA technology, Progea has decided to exploit the modularity of its Automation Platform.NExT software platform product to leverage the OPC UA Server technology in the market.
This product modulation is called Connext and will soon be released on the market as a special product that is more than just the usual OPC UA Server. It comes rich with technology and features that are capable of providing connectivity with the main communication protocols of industrial devices, networks, fieldbus and IIoT to deliver more flexibility to meet the demands of Industry 4.0.Connext is based on the Automation Platform.NExT architecture, the new generation industrial platform, and exploits the platform’s modularity to offer a flexible and cost-effective OPC Server product. Thanks to the numerous communication protocols (such as Modbus, Siemens S7, TIA Portal, Omron, Mitsubishi, Ethernet/IP, Bacnet, Konnex, SNMP, IEC870, and others) the user will be able to connect to any device and publish data in the OPC UA Server’s address space to create connectivity towards their applications, other SCADA/HMI or MES/ERP systems and provide users with just the one simple real-time data source. The platform has been designed to give users, and the not-so-expert users, a performing, reliable and simple-to-use communication solution while offering top level server solutions at the same time using Gateway, Historian/Data Logger and Redundancy functions.
The Progea OPC UA Server has OPC Foundation certification and supports the DA specifications along with the Alarms & Condition and Historical Access specifications.
In addition to the communication protocols for PLC devices or industrial networks, other protocols are provided for the Industrial IoT, such as OPC UA Azure IoT, PubNub, MQTT and others for example.
This product will be presented at the next SPS fair in Nuremburg.
