OPC IOP – Interoperability Workshop 2016

From November 14 to 18 were held in Nuremberg (GER) the event 2016 OPC IOP, the OPC Foundation Interoperability Workshop. This event were attended by leading companies in the automation and IT industry, such as Siemens, Beckhoff, SAP, Microsoft, Bosch Rexroth, Schneider, GE, OSISoft, Progea, Kepware, Yokogawa and a few others. Progea partecipates with Maurizio Zaniboni and Claudio Fiorani, which – by the way – is the President of the OPC Foundation Italy.
Purpose of the workshop is the mutual OPC UA interoperability tests, with the respective products of the participants, in order to check the proper functioning of the hardware and software that use the OPC UA technology. Due to the fact that Progea has cerificate its OPC UA Server, often Movicon.NExT was taken as a “reference” for functional tests with other products.
Needless to emphasize the importance of these workshops, which are held annually. Thanks to the joint work and mutual testing, users can rely on connectivity criteria so that not only are based on functional specifications, but are thoroughly tested with each other in order to guarantee everyone the best possible result in terms of functionality and performances.
