    Hello,

I have Vipa panel with RFID reader (VIPA Touch Panel TP 612C RFID).
There are two options where ID from RFID tag is sent. First option is Shared memory and second one is Send keys.

Does anyone know how do I get ID from tag into Movicon?

    Hello Tomazs
I’m great user of Movicon 11 but I never had a direct experience on similar applications.
Anyway I think the best approach could be to involve directly the VIPA /Yaskawa support considering that they are partner of Progea, they should be able to address You in the correct direction.

In any case, the method to interface a RFID device is strictly linked to the device specification.

Movicon is open to interface such devices in different ways:

-For example to accept a sort of Keybord emulator (just set the focus for example on a display connected to a variable)
-Shared Memory Driver that you mentioned it’s available in Movicon 11
-A custom VB.NET script that uses “Sockets” to communicate with readers using the protocol’s own syntax. (I don’t think it’s suitable if your system is based on Win CE environments because the .NET is not supported on Win CE)
-If it is a serial interface, I got in the past from this web site the “ES_IOPort_Serial” examples from the script folder…it has a script that stay listening the traffic shared in a serial port.
    -ActiveX solutions (not for CE)

    Regards

    Hello,

I have contacted Vipa support. Their answear regarding this matter was, I quote: “Actually Movicon isn’t planned to use with the RFID-TPs.”

I am a bit disappointed about that.

So we will not use build in RFID but buy external device and connect it to the PLC.

    Regards

    Hello Tomazs,
As I written in the previous post, this interface can require an integration if the protocol supported RFID it is a NOT standard one (like for example Modbus)

But Movicon is open to interface such devices in different ways….
